Regular Season Round 7: Usti n/Labem - NH Ostrava 77-63

Rather expected game when 11th ranked NH Ostrava (1-6) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (3-4) 77-63 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-63. BK Usti nad Labem dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to NH Ostrava's 26. Forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Khristian Smith (198-91, college: Indiana St.) chipped in 19 points. Four BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. American guard Sterling Smith (193-93, college: Pittsburgh) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Petr Bohacik (205-85) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Usti nad Labem moved-up to sixth place, which they share with USK Praha and BK Kolin. NH Ostrava lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with MMCITE Brno. BK Usti nad Labem will meet MMCITE Brno (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. NH Ostrava will play against the league's leader CEZ Nymburk and hope to win that game.
