Regular Season Round 3: Energa Czarni - Asseco 71-81

There was a surprise result when Asseco (1-2) beat Energa Czarni (1-2) in Slupsk 81-71 on Saturday. It was a good game for swingman Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (196-95) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Filip Matczak (187-93) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and the other American import swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Energa Czarni. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Energa Czarni's coach Roberts Stelmahers tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Asseco will face AZS Polfarmex (#6) in Kutno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
