Regular Season Round 2: Geneve Lions - Lausanne 74-54

No shocking result in a game when Geneve Lions (1-0) smashed at home Lausanne (0-2) 74-54 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-54. Geneve Lions dominated on the defensive end, holding Lausanne to just 4 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lausanne's 28 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lausanne 48-29 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Antonio Ballard (193-88, college: Miami, OH) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Chaz Williams (175-91, college: Massachusetts) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Ballard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. Guard Anton Wilson (196, college: Detroit Mercy) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Geneve Lions are looking forward to face Boncourt (#7) on the road in the next round. Lausanne will play against Fribourg and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
