Regular Season Round 8: BK Opava - Svitavy 101-73

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (2-6) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked BK Opava (5-3) 101-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. BK Opava led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. BK Opava shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Martin Gniadek (203-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-87, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four BK Opava players scored in double figures. American point guard T.J. Bannister (180-84, college: Liberty, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 15 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import power forward Brett Roseboro (208-91, college: UMBC, agency: Inception Sports) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Opava moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Prostejov. Basketbal Svitavy lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with J.Hradec. BK Opava will meet Prostejov (#5) on the road in the next round. Basketbal Svitavy will play against the league's leader CEZ Nymburk (#1) and hope to secure a win.
