Regular Season Round 3: Lusitania - FC Porto 68-92

Very significant was FC Porto Ferpinta's (#4) 24-point road victory against Lusitania 92-68. They outrebounded Lusitania 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. FC Porto Ferpinta players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Lusitania's players. It was an exceptional evening for American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Jose Silva (194-89) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four FC Porto Ferpinta players scored in double figures. FC Porto Ferpinta's coach Moncho Lopez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Garrius Holloman (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Angola forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. FC Porto Ferpinta will play against Sampaense (#12) in Coimbra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lusitania will play on the road against Ovarense (#11) to get more than just one victory in their record.
