Regular Season Round 7: Gries/Oberhoffen - Vitre 58-63

There was no surprise in Bischwiller where 14th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (2-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Vitre (5-2) 63-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gries/Oberhoffen won third quarter 17-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for Desmond Quincy-Jones (201-85, college: Pace) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Tommy Ghezala (184-92) added 13 points respectively for Gries/Oberhoffen in the defeat. Vitre moved-up to third place, which they share with GET Vosges and St Vallier. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Vitre's next round opponent will be GET Vosges (#4) in Golbey. Gries/Oberhoffen will play on the road against Angers BC (#7) and hope to win that game.
