Regular Season Round 6: Cassovia K. - Slovan 48-62

The biggest surprise of round 6 in Extraliga was guest Slovan's (2-3) road victory over Cassovia K. (#8) 62-48 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Slovan. Cassovia K. managed to win third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was center Renata Talajkova (190-81) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Marta Vargova (180-83) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Miriama Mackulinova (174-91) who recorded 15 points and Monika Migova (175-95) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovan moved-up to fifth place. Cassovia K. at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with UKF Nitra. Slovan are looking forward to face league's leader Piestanske C. in Piestany in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cassovia K.'s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kosice to the arena Good Angels.
