Regular Season Round 4: Gmunden - Vienna 73-66

Date: October 23, 2016
Bottom-ranked Vienna (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fourth ranked Gmunden Swans (3-1) 73-66. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 23-12 run, which allowed them to win the game. Gmunden Swans players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vienna's players. The winners were led by forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 assists and point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 22 points and 5 assists by American point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa) did not help to save the game for Vienna. Forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Gmunden Swans keep a position of league leader, which they share with Wels and Furstenfeld. Vienna at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Gmunden Swans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vienna will play at home against Kapfenberg Bulls (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
