The most surprising game was a loss of Hasharon (2-1) in Kazrin on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by Galil Elion (1-2) 75-74. Hasharon was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Galil Elion, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Galil Elion outrebounded Hasharon 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Maxim Kikus (188-94) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Galil Elion players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Greg Logins (203-88, college: Canisius, agency: HMS) with 26 points and 7 rebounds and Rom Cornelius (197-93) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Galil Elion is looking forward to face Ironi Kiryat Ata (#12) on the road in the next round. Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
