Regular Season Round 5: Ostrava - Novy Jicin 73-68

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Novy Jicin (3-2) against fifth ranked Ostrava (3-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Novy Jicin was defeated by Ostrava in a tough game in Ostrava 68-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Novy Jicin. Ostrava made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Guard Jan Lycka (186-93) nailed 18 points for the winning side and guard Lukas Bukovjan (185-98) accounted for 17 points. Power forward Rostislav Pelikan (209-78) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and center Tadeas Janik (201-94) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Novy Jicin in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ostrava moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Novy Jicin. Ostrava will meet at home B&W Opava B (#4) in the next round. Novy Jicin will play against BK Prostejov B and hope to secure a win.
