Regular Season Round 7: Stal SW - AZS UMCS Lbn 79-74

Undefeated AZS UMCS Lbn (5-1) recorded its first loss in Stalowa Wola on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Stal SW (5-2) 79-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of AZS UMCS Lbn. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-74. It was a great evening for point guard Rafal Partyka (184-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Leszek Kaczmarski (190-94) helped adding 14 points. Stal SW's coach Robert Grzyb allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Michal Marciniak (195-79) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five AZS UMCS Lbn players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Stal SW. They moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with LKS MG13 Lodz. Loser AZS UMCS Lbn dropped to the third position with one game lost. Stal SW will meet at home league's second-placed Syntex Ksiezak in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS UMCS Lbn will play against Zubry and hope to secure a win.
