Regular Season Round 7: Runa Basket - Tambov 74-71

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Tambov (5-2) in Moscow on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by eighth ranked Runa Basket (2-5) 74-71. It was a great evening for forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, college: JMU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Arseniy Metreveli (189-95) helped adding 13 points and 5 steals. Runa Basket's coach Jovan Popovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Nikita Gresev (204-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Yury Pershin (194-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tambov players scored in double figures. Runa Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Spartak SP. Tambov at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Dyn-Magn.ChL. Runa Basket is again looking forward to face league's leader Tambov at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tambov will have a break next round.
