Regular Season Round 5: Benfica B - Fisica 75-69

Very expected game in Lisboa where 8th ranked Fisica (1-4) was defeated by third ranked Benfica B (3-2) 75-69 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But Fisica won second period 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Benfica B had a 34-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Ricardo Monteiro (208-97) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Slovenia guard Aljaz Slutej (188-96) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Point guard Ricardo Robalo (165-84) produced 17 points and 7 assists and center Pedro Bagio (194-79) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Benfica B moved-up to second place in Group South, which they share with Angra and Estoril Basket. Fisica lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Benfica B will face Terceira (#5) in Angra Heroismo in the next round. Fisica will play at home against Belenenses CF and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
