Regular Season Round 8: Lich II - Kaiserslautern 80-68

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Lich II (5-3) won against at home 12th ranked Kaiserslautern (2-6) 80-68 on Sunday. They outrebounded Kaiserslautern 41-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Kaiserslautern was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Johannes Schlaefer (196-88) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Japhet McNeil (183-85, college: Bridgeport) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and guard Kevin Croom added 15 points in the effort for Kaiserslautern. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lich II have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Karlsruhe SC and Fellbach. Kaiserslautern lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Lich II will face league's second-placed Speyer at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kaiserslautern will play against Karlsruhe SC (#5) and hope to win that game.
