Regular Season Round 7: Salt - Calvia 50-81

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Salt (1-4) was outscored at home by ninth ranked Calvia (3-2) 81-50 on Sunday. The game without a history. Calvia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Calvia outrebounded Salt 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Adria Burguet (193-91) answered with 12 points and point guard Xavier Torrent (176-90) added 10 points in the effort for Salt. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Calvia moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with Arenys and AEC Collblanc. Salt lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Calvia will face league's leader Martorell on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salt will play against Barna (#3) and hope to win that game.
