There was no surprise when 11th ranked Ortona (2-4) lost on the road to seventh ranked Pescara (4-2) 81-70 on Sunday. Pescara forced 24 Ortona turnovers. It was a good game for guard Simone Pepe (184-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Emidio Di Donato (199-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Gianluca Di Carmine (200-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Victorio Gustavo Musso (185-84) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Ortona. Ortona's coach Sandro Di Salvatore rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pescara moved-up to second place, which they share with 9 other teams. Loser Ortona keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Pescara will face Montegrano (#3) in Montenegrano in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ortona will play at home against Matera (#5) and hope to win that game.
