Regular Season Round 7: Opava B - Novy Jicin 75-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Opava. Third ranked B&W Opava B faced 4th placed Novy Jicin. Host B&W Opava B (5-2) defeated guests from Novy Jicin (4-3) 75-67. They outrebounded Novy Jicin 51-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-93, college: Des Moines Area CC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Center Miroslav Kvapil (202-93) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four B&W Opava B players scored in double figures. Center Tadeas Janik (201-94) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jakub Omanik (186-94) added 10 points respectively for Novy Jicin in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. B&W Opava B have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Sokol Slapanice. Newly promoted Novy Jicin keeps the fourth position with three games lost. B&W Opava B's next round opponent will be Olomouc Bbal (#6) at home. Novy Jicin will play against the league's leader SKB Zlin and hope to win that game.
