Regular Season Round 8: Nidaros Jets - Persbraten 97-65

Bottom-ranked Persbraten is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Nidaros Jets (6-4) 97-65. It looked good early as Persbraten took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nidaros Jets had a 28-8 second period charge getting the lead and Persbraten was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-97. Nidaros Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 34 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Nidaros Jets forced 22 Persbraten turnovers and outrebounded them 37-17 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Evan Roquemore (190-92, college: Santa Clara) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Kenya Earl Simba (204-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Five Nidaros Jets players scored in double figures. Forward Eivind Jorgensen (195-94) produced 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and naturalized Greek guard Theodor Aliferis (183-88) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Nidaros Jets maintains fifth position with 6-4 record. Newly promoted Persbraten still closes the standings with seven games lost. Nidaros Jets' next round opponent will be higher ranked Gimle BBK (#3) in Bergen and it may be quite challenging game. Persbraten's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Centrum.
