Regular Season Round 11: Rennes - Lourdes 60-83

There was an upset when higher ranked Union Rennes (6-5) was smashed at home by sixteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (4-7) 83-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lourdes-Tarbes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Lourdes-Tarbes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Eric Bosc (200-93) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese guard El Kabir Pene (190-84) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Union Rennes. Union Rennes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Union Rennes dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face higher ranked Vitre (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
