Regular Season Round 12: Mazeikiai - Telsiai 73-65

We should mention about the upset which took place in Mazeikiai, where higher ranked Telsiai (8-4) lost to eleventh ranked Mazeikiai (4-8) in a road game 65-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Telsiai. The game without a history. Mazeikiai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by Mantas Serksnas (202-96) who scored that evening 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Kostas Jonuska (195-92) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by Gintautas Kybartas (201-94) did not help to save the game for Telsiai. Tomas Domarkas (184-91) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Mazeikiai moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Telsiai at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Mazeikiai's next round opponent will be higher ranked Vytis (#8) in Sakiai and it may be quite challenging game. Telsiai will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai and hope to win that game.
