Regular Season Round 11: Challans - Angers BC 67-65

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Vendee Challans (4-7) edged at home higher ranked Angers BC (6-5) 67-65 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Angers BC won third quarter 17-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian Djordje Petrovic (202-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach Philippe Namyst allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Anis Gabsi (198-93) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuania forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Angers BC. Vendee Challans moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Angers BC dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Vendee Challans will face higher ranked ALS Basket (#10) in Andrezieux in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
