Regular Season Round 9: Prievidza - Karlovka 92-68

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Prievidza (6-2) smashed at home 9th ranked Karlovka (3-5) 92-68 on Saturday. Prievidza dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Karlovka's 36. Prievidza forced 21 Karlovka turnovers. The former international Richard Korner (197-90) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin forward Slobodan Miljanic (201-90, college: Lynn, agency: AproK Sports Group) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Prievidza players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Michal Kozar (191-90) with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international guard Dalibor Hlivak (190-95) scored 5 points and 8 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Kosice and Levice. Loser Karlovka dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Lucenec. Prievidza will meet at home league's leader Inter Bratislava in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Karlovka will play against Rieker KN (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
