Regular Season Round 6: Adelaide - Perth 63-75

Date: November 12, 2016
Bottom-ranked Adelaide Lightning is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Perth Lynx (6-2) 75-63. The game was mostly controlled by Perth Lynx. Adelaide Lightning was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) who scored 23 points. Guard Tessa Lavey (172-93) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Adelaide Lightning's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Perth Lynx have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Adelaide Lightning at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Perth Lynx's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Bendigo Spirit at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Adelaide Lightning will play against the league's second-placed Bendigo Spirit (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
