Regular Season Round 8: Naron - Vigo VGO 89-77

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Naron (3-3) won against at home bottom-ranked Vigo VGO (0-6) 89-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Naron. Vigo VGO was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Vigo VGO 39-26 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tim Gill (203-93, college: Clarion) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds and guard Rob Brandenberg (188-92, college: VCU) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Gill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) responded with 23 points and guard Nick Grieves (193-92, college: CS East Bay) scored 18 points. Four Vigo VGO players scored in double figures. Vigo VGO's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Naron moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Rosalia. Newly promoted Vigo VGO still closes the standings with six games lost.
