Regular Season Round 6: Hapoel Holon - Maccabi Haifa 80-75
Date: November 13, 2016
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hapoel Holon (5-1) beat at home 10th ranked Maccabi Haifa (2-4) 80-75 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi Haifa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Darion Atkins (203-92, college: Virginia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Shlomi Harush (185-87) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Mexican guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Maccabi Haifa. Hapoel Holon have a solid three-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Maccabi T-A lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Maccabi Haifa dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Hapoel Holon will face Maccabi Rishon (#4) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round. Maccabi Haifa will play at home against Maccabi Ashdod (#3) and hope to win that game.
