Regular Season Round 7: Guangzhou LL - Xinjiang FT 89-99
Date: November 15, 2016
Bottom-ranked Guangzhou (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-89 loss to leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (7-0) in Guangzhou on Tuesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It was a great evening for American-Bulgaria point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Qiuping Liu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige and four Guangzhou players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Guangzhou still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Bayi R.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet Guandong Tigers (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Guangzhou will play against Qingdao Eagles (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
