Regular Season Round 7: Jiangsu D. - Qingdao E. 111-98

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nanjing, where higher ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-3) lost to seventeenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (2-5) in a road game 98-111 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qingdao Eagles. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Eagles' 40. Jiangsu Dragons forced 23 Qingdao Eagles turnovers. Jamaica power forward Samardo Samuels (206-89, college: Louisville) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) chipped in 27 points. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) produced 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with North Control B. Loser Qingdao Eagles dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round.
