Regular Season Round 8: Guangdong ST - Xinjiang FT 117-85

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Xinjiang Flying Tigers (7-1) in Dongguan on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by sixth ranked Guandong Tigers (5-3) 117-85. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Guandong Tigers forced 19 Xinjiang Flying Tige turnovers and outrebounded them 53-39 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) replied with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international power forward TongLin Sun (208-92) added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tigers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Shanghai S. and Guangsha L.. Guandong Tigers is looking forward to face Qingdao Eagles (#8) on the road in the next round. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and is hoping to win this game.
