Very expected game when 11th ranked Lorient (5-7) lost on the road to seventh ranked Saint Vallier (7-5) 99-92 on Saturday. Saint Vallier had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for Romain Gregoire (201-91) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) added 32 points in the effort for Lorient. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Vallier moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vitre and ALS Basket. Newly promoted Lorient dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Saint Vallier will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lorient will play at home against Union Rennes (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
