Regular Season Round 6: Swiss Central - Geneve Lions 73-70

Date: November 19, 2016
The most surprising game was the first loss of Geneve Lions (4-1) in Luzern on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Swiss Central (4-2) 73-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Geneve Lions. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Rhamel Brown (201-92, college: Manhattan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Serbian guard Nemanja Kovacevic (194-85) contributed with 12 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Swiss Central players scored in double figures. American swingman Antonio Ballard (193-88, college: Miami, OH) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import point guard Chaz Williams (175-91, college: Massachusetts) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Geneve Lions. Swiss Central moved-up to third place, which they share with Fribourg. Geneve Lions at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Monthey. Swiss Central will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Geneve Lions will play at home against Massagno and are hoping to win this game.
