Regular Season Round 7: Iraklis - Psychiko 77-64

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Iraklis (6-1) beat 8th ranked Psyhiko (3-4) in Thessaloniki 77-64 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Dimitrios Kalaitzidis (198-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Iraklis' coach Vangelis Alexandris used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Nikos Tsiokos (207-91) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Psyhiko. Iraklis maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Panionios, which they share with Doukas. Loser Psyhiko keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Iraklis will face Pagrati (#15) in Athens in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Psyhiko will play at home against AE Larissas (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
