There was no surprise in La Linea where 6th ranked Utrera (3-4) was defeated by second ranked ULB OH!TELS (6-1) 64-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ULB OH!TELS. Utrera was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Utrera 40-17 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Evan Maxwell (203, college: Dowling) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. ULB OH!TELS's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jordan Thomas (196, college: St.Mary's, KS) who recorded 16 points and point guard Daniel Vicente (184-98) added 11 points respectively. ULB OH!TELS have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of Group D-B leader, which they share with Yosiquese. Loser Utrera dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. ULB OH!TELS will face San Fernando (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Utrera will play against San Juan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
