Regular Season Round 7: Trikalla - PAOK 84-73

Bottom-ranked Aiolos Trikallon managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked PAOK 84-73. The game was mostly controlled by Aiolos Trikallon. PAOK managed to win fourth quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded PAOK 34-21 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Lithuanian Gilvydas Biruta (203-91, college: Rhode Island) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Sotirios Manolopoulos (208-87) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side American guard Jordan Sibert (193-92, college: Dayton) responded with 16 points and the other American import power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aiolos Trikallon (2-5) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. PAOK at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with AGOR. Aiolos Trikallon is looking forward to face higher ranked Promitheas (#9) in Patras in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PAOK will play at home against AGOR (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
