Regular Season Round 11: Toros - Indios 89-69

Third ranked Toros (7-5) crushed at home 9th ranked Ciudad (3-8) by 20 points 89-69, which is the biggest margin this round. It looked good early as Ciudad took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toros had a 27-17 second period charge getting the lead and Ciudad was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-89. Toros dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ciudad's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) answered with 18 points and Senegalese forward Amadou Mbodji (211-86, college: Jacksonville St.) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ciudad. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Toros maintains third place with 7-5 record having three points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Ciudad lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Toros' next round opponent will be Abejas (#5) in Guanajuato. Ciudad will play at home against Correcaminos (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
