Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Ostrava (4-4) won against at home 9th ranked Pardubice (1-7) 73-59 on Sunday. They outrebounded Pardubice 45-29 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ostrava looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Pardubice's players. Center Jiri Stepanek (201-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Jakub Slavik (200-99) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Ostrava's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Josef Potocek (196-96) replied with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and center Karel Formanek (202-97) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pardubice. Ostrava moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Novy Jicin and Olomouc Bbal. Pardubice lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Ostrava will face Havirov (#9) on the road in the next round. Pardubice will play against B&W Opava B and hope to win that game.
