Regular Season Round 7: Darussafaka - TED Kolejliler 71-62

Bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 71-62 loss to eighth ranked Darussafaka (4-3) in Istanbul on Monday evening. Darussafaka outrebounded TED Kolejliler 49-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for James Anderson (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Marcus Slaughter (204-85, college: San Diego St.) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach David Blatt used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Devin Thomas (206-94, college: Wake Forest) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Darussafaka maintains eighth place with 4-3 record. TED Kolejliler lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Best Balikesir. Darussafaka will meet Usak Sportlif (#12) on the road in the next round. TED Kolejliler will play against Galatasaray (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
