Regular Season Round 18: Yokohama BC - San-en 80-67

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Yokohama BC (7-11) beat at home second-best Sanen Neophoenix (11-7) 80-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-67. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international center Pape Faye (200-87) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yokohama BC maintains fifth position with 7-11 record. Loser Sanen Neophoenix keeps the second place with seven games lost. Yokohama BC will face again league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
