Regular Season Round 7: Geneve Lions - Massagno 81-74

LNA top team - Geneve Lions (5-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Massagno (2-4) 81-74. It looked good early as Massagno took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Geneve Lions took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Massagno's 32. They outrebounded Massagno 41-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for American swingman Antonio Ballard (193-88, college: Miami, OH) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brandon Garrett (206-90, college: Murray St.) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Ballard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: Two Points) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Massagno in the defeat. Geneve Lions maintains first place with 5-1 record. Massagno at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Neuchatel. Geneve Lions will play against Neuchatel (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Massagno will play against Lausanne and hopes to get back on the winning track.
