Regular Season Round 12: SMS PZKosz - Trefl II Sopot 78-81

A very close game took place in Wladyslawowo between Trefl II Sopot and SMS PZKosz. Seventh ranked Trefl II Sopot (6-5) got a very close victory on the road over second-best SMS PZKosz (8-2). Trefl II Sopot managed to escape with a 3-point win 81-78 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of SMS PZKosz. Trefl II Sopot forced 20 SMS PZKosz turnovers. The best player for the winners was Grzegorz Kulka (205-96) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Bartosz Majewski (188-97) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Daniel Golebiowski (196-98) who recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Michal Samsonowicz (188-98) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Trefl II Sopot have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AZS KU PO and Rybnik. Loser SMS PZKosz keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with AZS UMK Torun. Trefl II Sopot will meet at home Goleniow (#9) in the next round. SMS PZKosz will play against the league's leader Pelplin (#1) in Pelpin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
