Quarter-Finals Round 3: Canarios - San Miguel 82-80

Canarios nipped San Miguel at home court to win the series 2-1. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But San Miguel won third quarter 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded San Miguel 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Canarios looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by San Miguel's players. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American forward Devin Thompson (199-80, college: St.Peter's) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Samuel Colmenero (185, college: San Francisco St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bernando Polanco who recorded 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Nicaraguan guard Noel McKenzie (188-78) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively.
