An interesting game for Singapore Singapore Slingers (2-0) which played road game in against Filipino Alab Pilipinas (0-1). Singapore Slingers managed to get a 5-point victory 71-66. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Singapore Slingers outrebounded Alab Pilipinas 51-39 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Alab Pilipinas were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Filipino guard Bobby Ray Parks (193-93, college: High School) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American-South Korean power forward Seung-Jun Lee (205-78, college: Seattle Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Alab Pilipinas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Singapore Slingers will play against Saigon Heat (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Alab Pilipinas will play against Kaohsiung and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
