Regular Season Round 9: Vysocina - Basket Kosice 69-70

The most exciting game of round 9 in the 1Liga took place in Jihlava. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Vysocina (3-6) to seventh ranked Basket Kosice (4-4) 70-69 on Sunday evening. Power forward Dusan Hlavacek (197-77) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Jan Kratochvil (199-82) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Ondrej Manak (198-86) with 26 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jiri Bubak (194-84) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Basket Kosice moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Vysocina at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with GBA Sparta. Basket Kosice are looking forward to face league's leader Sokol Hradec Kralove on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vysocina will play against BK Loko Plzen (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
