Regular Season Round 8: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi K/G 91-67

Date: November 28, 2016
Leader Maccabi T-A delivered the seventh victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked Maccabi K/G (2-6) 91-67 in Tel-Aviv. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Maccabi K/G managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and international point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: BeoBasket) who added 13 points and 9 assists during the contest. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. American swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 18 points and 5 steals and his fellow American import guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A maintains first position with 7-1 record. Loser Maccabi K/G stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Maccabi T-A will meet Maccabi Haifa (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi K/G will play against Galil Gilboa (#8) and hope to secure a win.
