Regular Season Round 8: Szczecin - Siarka 76-84
Date: November 30, 2016
Stabill can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Wilki Morskie (4-5) on the road game in Szczecin 84-76. Wilki Morskie was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 24-14 charge of Stabill, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Alex Welsh (200-94, college: Colorado Springs) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) supported him with 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Even 11 points and 7 assists by Guinean-American guard Russell Robinson (185-86) did not help to save the game for Wilki Morskie. The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) added 14 points for the hosts. Four Stabill and five Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Wilki Morskie's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stabill maintains sixteenth position with 1-7 record. It was Wilki Morskie's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. Stabill's next round opponent will be higher ranked Anwil (#5) in Wloclawek and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
