Regular Season Round 12: Shanghai S. - Xinjiang FT 122-97

The game between Top Four teams took place in Shanghai. Second ranked host Shanghai Sharks (11-1) smashed 3rd ranked Xinjiang Flying Tigers (9-3) 122-97. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tigers. They outrebounded Xinjiang Flying Tigers 52-38 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shanghai Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who added 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) with 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and international center Qi Zhou (217-96) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai Sharks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangsha L. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Shanghai Sharks is looking forward to face Qingdao Eagles (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Xinjiang Flying Tigers will play against Fujian (#16) in Jinjiang and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
