Regular Season Round 3: Kozuv - Strumica 84-65

The game in Gevgelija was also worth to mention about. Strumica (1-2) played at the court of Kozuv (1-2). Kozuv did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 84-65. It looked good early as Strumica took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kozuv had a 17-13 second period charge getting the lead and Strumica was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-84. They outrebounded Strumica 44-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kenyon McNeaill (185-91, college: Louisiana Tech) who scored 26 points and 4 assists. Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-91) chipped in 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Kozuv's coach Vrbica Stefanov let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and naturalized Serbian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kozuv's next round opponent will be Rabotnicki in Skopje and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Strumica will play at home against Ohrid AV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
