Regular Season Round 9: PVSK Pannon - Sopron KC 92-77

Rather expected game in Pecs where 9th ranked Sopron KC (4-5) was defeated by seventh ranked PVSK Pannon (5-3) 92-77. The game was mostly controlled by PVSK Pannon. Sopron KC was better in second period 25-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PVSK Pannon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sopron KC's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) nailed 27 points for the winning side and Bosnian center Ismet Sejfic (208-93) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) added 16 points respectively for Sopron KC in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PVSK Pannon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ZTE KK and Szolnok. Sopron KC lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. PVSK Pannon's next round opponent will be Jaszberenyi (#10) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Sopron KC will play against KTE-Duna and hope to win that game.
