Regular Season Round 10: Prostejov B - Ostrava 69-54

There was an upset when higher ranked Ostrava (5-5) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked BK Prostejov B (3-7) 69-54 on Friday. BK Prostejov B dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ostrava's 26. BK Prostejov B forced 26 Ostrava turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. BK Prostejov B looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BK Prostejov B made 9 blocks. Swingman Marek Sehnal (196-96) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Slovakian Milan Szabo (204-98) chipped in 22 points. Point guard Jan Ricka (180-98) produced 15 points and 4 assists and guard Michal Palat (194-90) added 7 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. BK Prostejov B moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Novy Jicin and Pardubice. Ostrava at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. BK Prostejov B will face league's second-placed B&W Opava B on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ostrava will play against the league's leader SKB Zlin having rather not much hope for a victory.
