Not a big story in a game in Vilnius where 9th ranked Lithuanian Kibirkstis-VICI (1-3) was outplayed by top-ranked Latvian TTT Riga (4-0) 73-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TTT Riga. Kibirkstis-VICI was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TTT Riga forced 22 Kibirkstis-VICI turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TTT Riga made 7 blocks. American forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Center Ruta Veidere (188-94) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. TTT Riga's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Egle Sniokaite (175-88) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Vita Kuktiene (185-80) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. TTT Riga have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Latvian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Dynamo M. and Good Angels. Loser Kibirkstis-VICI dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. TTT Riga will face league's second-placed Good Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kibirkstis-VICI will play on the road against Tsmoki-Minsk (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
