Regular Season Round 14: St Vallier - Gries/Oberhoffen 88-73

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (4-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Saint Vallier (9-5) 88-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 54-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Gries/Oberhoffen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) who scored 27 points. Guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) produced 19 points and American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saint Vallier have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Caen and RAC Basket. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen keeps the sixteenth position with ten games lost.
